PenTest Project Management

Length: One-Day

Designed for experienced Project Managers, this course discusses the problems and solutions unique to managing a penetration test effort. Topics include:

  • PenTest Methodologies
    • Defined Vs. Empirical Processes
    • OSSTMM and ISSAF
    • How they map to the PMBOK
  • Integrating PenTest Methodologies into:
    • Agile programming
    • Waterfall / Sequential software development
    • Spiral Development Model
  • PenTesting and the PMBOK Knowledge Areas

This one-day course will provide those project managers new to the field of penetration testing an understanding of the unique issues and real-world problems managing a pentest effort. Whether developing your own pentest team, or working with outside auditors, this course will give you the knowledge required to ensure your time, resources, and budget are used efficiently.

PenTest Lab Management

Length: One-Day

Developed by the co-author of the book “Penetration Tester’s Open Source Toolkit, Volume 2,” this course expands on the author’s chapter titled: “Building Penetration Test Labs.” The following topics are discussed in this one-day class:

  • Setting up a Penetration Test Lab
  • Types of PenTest labs
  • Equipment and Software requirements
  • Management and Project Management issues and considerations
  • Issues and considerations during Penetration Tests

Based on years of real-world experience, this course is designed to assist management and engineers the intricacies of establishing of adding an in-house PenTest lab.

Penetration Testing Fundamentals (HPTF)

Length: Five-Day

Developed from our successful online course, the on-site training version of this program provides a more intense hands-on instructional class. Designed to teach the fundamentals of penetration testing, students learn the ISSAF methodology and the skills necessary to conduct their own penetration test. At the conclusion of the class, students will have conducted their own penetration test, and will receive the HPTF certification.

Pricing / Details

Despite the unique training opportunities offered through Heorot.net, we maintain competitive prices for all our on-site training. The base cost is $400 per student per day with a minimum enrollment of 10 students. Additional students can attend the class at a discounted rate of $300 per student, up to a maximum class size of 20 students. Additional costs will include transportation to your prescribed location, as well as accommodations.

All courses require a room with adequate space for all students and presentation equipment. All students are required to bring a laptop with a minimum of 1 gig memory, running windows XP or Vista, with VMware Player pre-loaded.
